Cape Breton Clay is just a stone's throw from the Cabot Trail. Our shop is located in a converted barn next to the Nile Brook and "The Red Bank" salmon pool on the Margaree River. Coming from Baddeck, turn right at the Margaree Valley exit and head northeast for 3 kilometers/1.9 miles. If you're coming from Cheticamp or Inverness, turn off the Trail toward Margaree Valley (East Big Intervale Road). Drive straight ahead and you'll eventually see another sign telling you to continue for another mile. Look on the right for a number of buildings including a black house and a black barn with white trim and bright red doors, beside the brook. If you arrive at MacPherson's General Store, you've gone a bit too far.
We now have a second location in Chimney Corner, on the Ceilidh Trail (route 19), 5 miles south of Margaree Harbour.
